I was born in the Kingdom of Swaziland and grew up in the small town of Big Bend surrounded by bush. It was a pretty wild upbringing, spending most of my childhood running around barefoot and re-creating jungle book adventures with anything I could get my hands on.
My dad was a photographer and though growing up I had no interest in pursuing photography as a career, I yearned to re-live that child-like fascination for all things wild. And as I got older I gradually began to uncover the fine-lines that connected the dots to all my passions and (in some bizarre way) ended up practising a style of photography and design that are connected to giving back to the natural world.
Now having worked in conservation for over 10 years, I know first hand that the best way to get anyone to care about the natural world is to get them to fall in love with it, to generate empathy and yearning for a unique experience, and that’s why I strive to keep the tone of my work as positive as possible.
People only protect and care for what they love, and through my work I’m attempting to draw people’s emotions, awe and wonder to the beauty of the natural world.
So to anyone still reading, I hope you fall in love with the beauty I see, and hope to meet you soon, somewhere, out in the wild.
